Bicyclist Dies After Crash With Flatbed Truck: Middletown Police
Police have identified the victim of a fatal crash last Friday in Middletown.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A bicyclist died after crashing into a flatbed truck last Friday morning in Middletown, according to police. The victim was identified as Louis Petruzzello, 64, of Middletown, police said on Monday.
The crash happened around 10:45 a.m. May 1 on Randolph Road at its intersection with Millbrook Road. Middletown police, South Fire District and Hunter’s Ambulance responded to the scene to assist, according to Sgt. Doug Clark.
Clark said Petruzzello was traveling northbound on Millbrook Road approaching the intersection of Randolph Road and crashed into a 2020 Freightliner Coronado flatbed triaxle truck that was stopped at the intersection.

Petruzzello was seriously injured in the crash and was taken to Middlesex Hospital where he later died, according to Clark.
Police are continuing to investigate the crash and witnesses are asked to call Officer Botsacos at 860-638-4061.
