UPDATE: All lanes have reopened, according to state transportation officials.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A two-vehicle accident has closed two lanes on Route 9 South at Exit 16 in Middletown, according to state transportation officials.

The left and center lanes are closed.

Traffic is congested for several miles on Route 9 North between Exits 12 and 16, according to officials.
