Drive-Through Meet and Greet/Farewell

At St. Pius X Church

On Sunday at 2pm there was a Drive-Through Meet and Greet/Farewell for their Parish's Religious Team. They welcomed their new pastor, Fr. Martin Curtin, and the new parochial vicar, Fr. Ernie Bedard and community members Br. Brian Champoux, (new Guardian) and Fr. Matthias Wesnofske (Senior Friar). All of them are OFM Capuchin priests and Brothers.

Fr. Martin came from St. Joseph the Worker Parish in East Patchogue, NY. and Fr. Ernie Bedard, OFM Cap. as the new parochial vicar at St. Pius. Fr. Ernie is a native of Holyoke, MA, and in his eight years as a priest has served at several of Capuchin staffed parishes in New York. Fr. Matthias worked for many years in the deaf apostolate and most recently as the Capuchin Provincial Spiritual Assistant for the Secular Franciscans in New York and Southern New England.

They also had a farewell to their current pastor of the last nine years, Fr. John Gallagher OFM Cap., and former parochial vicar, Fr. Scott Surrency OFM Cap., who have received new assignments elsewhere.
