The Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a FREE virtual workshop on opioids titled, “The Epidemic Within the Pandemic.” The opioids workshop will be held virtually on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m.
This virtual workshop on opioids will be presented by the Chamber’s Middlesex County Substance Abuse Action Council (MCSAAC), Middletown Health Department and Recovery Employment Program (REP).
Join the following panelist for a discussion on The Epidemic Within the Pandemic, Kevin Elak from the Middletown Health Department will first open the presentation by providing general information on the effects of opioids within the Middlesex County region. Dr. Michael Kalinowski from Durham Middlefield Local Wellness Coalition will then speak on ways to prevent opioid addiction. Dr. Hamilton Giani from Middlesex Health will then present the Stigma on opioid awareness. Then Dr. Jonathan Craig Allen from Hartford HealthCare Rushford Center will present ways of treatment. Lastly, Margaret O’Hagan Lynch from Connecticut Valley Hospital will present many different levels of care and ways of virtual support during COVID-19.
