Garbage On Truck Catches Fire In Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A load of garbage on a garbage truck caught fire Monday morning in Middletown, according to fire officials.

Units from the South Fire District responded to Ace Hardware on South Main Street with a load of garbage on fire from a garbage truck that emptied into the parking lot, officials said.

The businesses remained open and officials advised motorists to use caution in the area, according to a post on the South Fire District Firefighters IAFF Local 3918 union’s Facebook page.
