GoFundMe Effort Launched In Memory Of Teen Killed In Middletown
The 18-year-old was killed in a crash on Route 9 North in Middletown.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — A GoFundMe page has been launched in honor of 18-year-old Middletown resident Amil Carlton Phillip, who was killed in a crash on Route 9 North in Middletown Tuesday night.
"On 6/22/21 The Phillip and Negron family experienced the sudden loss of their beloved son, brother, and family member Amil Phillip," wrote the page's organizer Renee Howell. "Amil was a recent graduate of Middletown High School and had a bright future ahead of him. Due to the unexpected nature of Amil’s passing, family and friends would like to support his parents’, Sandra (Sandy) Negron and Clinton Phillip, with funeral expenses."
As of Friday afternoon, less than 24 hours after its creation, the page had raised more than $8,600, which exceeded the goal of $6,000.
