How to Recycle Right information Tonight At Spear Park

And Tomorrow At Middletown Farmers Market

Dear Recyclers,

Summer is here! Just a quick note that starting tonight, we will be at the Summer Sounds Concert Series held every other Thursday in Spear Park from 6 - 8 pm. Each event, we'll offer information on different recycling topics.

Tonight, we will be there, with How to Recycle Right information. If you sign our pledge to Recycle Right, you'll get a free pen made out of recycled water bottles and get entered into a free raffle for some recycling goodies! Also, we will be collecting plastic film and plastic bags for recycling at the concerts! These items cannot go in the regular recycling carts, but they can be recycled separately. Bring them to us, and we'll make sure they get recycled!

Also, starting tomorrow, on Fridays, we'll be at the Middletown Farmers Market collecting food scraps for the City's food waste diversion program! Master Composters will be onsite to answer composting questions. If you can't compost at home, bring us your scraps! We'll have free kitchen scrap containers for Middletown residents who commit to composting at home or dropping off food scraps. Food scraps can also be brought to the Recycling Center and, starting July 1st, we will be opening a drop off area on Randolph Road! More exciting information will be coming on that!

We are looking forward to a fun and active summer! As always, if you have any recycling questions, please reach out to me at 860-638-4855 or kim.orourke@middletownct.gov.Happy Recycling, Kim O'Rourke Middletown Recycling Coordinator
