The woman was stabbed at least eight times, according to police.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Middletown man is accused of stabbing a woman multiple times in a “jealous fit of rage,” according to police.
Jaime Nova O’Ryan, 37, was arrested Thursday after police said he stabbed a woman at least eight times. The victim’s injuries consisted of eight stab wounds, including two puncture wounds in her upper back, according to the police report.
The victim told police O’Ryan stabbed her in a “jealous fit of rage,” the report states. She said O’Ryan stopped and called 911 after she pleaded with him.

O’Ryan told the 911 dispatcher that he had just stabbed the woman, according to the police report. The victim’s wounds were consistent with her claim that O’Ryan stabbed her from behind while she was looking for clothes in her closet, according to police.
“O’Ryan did not deny stabbing the victim, but claimed that she attacked him with the knife and she must have been stabbed in the struggle,” police wrote in the report.

O’Ryan had one puncture wound to his left arm, which police said was “consistent with the victim’s claim that O’Ryan had his arm around her neck at one point during the struggle, accidentally injuring himself.”
Three young children were in the home at the time, according to police.
O’Ryan was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, carrying a dangerous weapon and three counts of risk of injury to a child. He was held in lieu of a $750,000 bond.
