Marijuana, $5.7K In Cash Found In Baby’s Crib: Middletown Police
Authorities found more than $39,000 worth of marijuana while executing a search warrant on a man accused of operating a drug factory.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — A convicted felon is accused of operating a drug factory out of his home in Middletown, according to police.
Kevin Agront, 22, was arrested Oct. 8 after police executed a search-and-seizure warrant at his home in the 1000 block of Town Ridge Drive. The warrant was the result of numerous complaints about drug activity by building management and “hours of surveillance and investigation” by the Middletown Police Department’s Narcotics Unit, according to the arrest report.
During the search, authorities found more than $39,000 worth of marijuana and $23,059 in cash. Two bags of marijuana and $5,769 in cash were found in a baby’s crib, according to police.

Agront was holding a child when police approached him in the parking lot at Town Ridge Drive around 9 a.m. on Oct. 8. A lieutenant cared for the child while authorities executed the search warrant, according to police.
Police found a red iPhone on Agront that included the number of a “recent arrestee” who asked to buy marijuana, according to the report.

Following an extensive search of Agront’s bedroom, authorities found $5,769 in cash and 30 grams of marijuana in a baby’s crib, a Glock 23 pistol, $17,000 in a safe, loose ammunition, a fake $100 bill and multiple bags that totaled more than 10 pounds of marijuana, according to police.
Police said Agront is a convicted felon and has a protective order against him from a recent domestic violence incident that precludes him from owning a gun or being in possession of ammunition. The gun police found was confirmed to have been stolen from a home in Wallingford, according to the report.
Agront had a medical marijuana card that indicted he is able to legally possess 2.5 ounces or less of marijuana, according to police.
The total amount of marijuana seized from Agront was 11.3 pounds, which had a “street value” of $39,384, according to police.
Agront was arrested on charges of negligent storage of firearm, risk of injury to a child, criminal possession of a pistol/revolver, criminal possession of a firearm/ammunition/electronic defense weapon, first-degree forgery, possession of over 1KG of marijuana with the intent to sell, possession of more than 4 ounces of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a drug factory. He was being held in lieu of a $500,000 bond with a court date of Nov. 13.
