Middlesex Community College tutor Rachel A. Christiana, 24 of Moodus, CT had attempted to falsely report now an alumni referred to as Jane Doe of gun violence. On July 23, 2019, Connecticut State Police Troop F-Westbrook were called by Rachel Christiana to Middlesex Community College out of fear of being threatened by Jane Doe and aledging that Jane Doe owned firearms to commit a massacre. When Troopers had arrived on the scene, Jane Doe had finished her shift and was not found on campus. Rachel Christiana was investigated by an unknown amount of troopers that were dispatched. After speaking with Jane Doe at her residence the Trooper assigned to the case finished their investigation. The investigative officer concluded that the statements made by Rachel A. Christiana was uncorroborated allegations which by CGS § 1-2109(b)(3)(G) means Miss. Christiana’s story was uncorroborated by her allegations. Since this was Rachel’s first time reporting an incident to the Connecticut State Police they did not charge her with False Reporting which is a Class A misdemeanor in the State of Connecticut which could have carried a year in jail or up to a $2,000 fine.
Jane Doe in a statement said “I am now coming forward about this incident after being silenced by my peers and out of fear of retaliation of a school that was supposed to make me feel safe. The fact of the matter is that even though this is a first time report to the troopers of falsely alleging me of a serious crime, this was not the only report made against me on campus. She had allegedly made a number of reports on campus against me in an attempt to get me falsely suspended or even expelled. This was only the first time she went as far as to try to get me falsely arrested because her attempts of harassment on campus did not work. Even though she is still a tutor at my former college, I believe that shows just how my case was not taken seriously by the administration of the college”.
