Middletown Leaps Upward In Latest High School Wrestling Poll

The top four teams retained their positions, but the next six spots had considerable movement in the latest balloting of coaches and media.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Danbury reigned for another week as the unanimous top high school wrestling team in Connecticut, and the lower half of the top 10 featured a considerable shuffling of schools in the latest poll of coaches and media members.

The Hatters collected all 17 first-place votes to easily outdistance runner-up Bristol Eastern, with Fairfield Warde and Southington holding their positions at No. 3 and 4.

Middletown High School made the biggest jump of the week, improving four spots to sixth in the most recent balloting. Xavier placed ninth.
