Missing Fisherman’s Body Found In CT River: Report

CROMWELL, CT — Middletown police divers found the body of a 67-year-old New Britain man in the Connecticut River in Cromwell on Friday afternoon, according to the Middletown Press.

The Press reports the man has been identified as Petro Pukas, who was reportedly last seen fishing at his favorite spot last Tuesday.

Middletown firefighters announced last Thursday they had a dive team searching the Connecticut River for a missing person. The person wasn’t found and the scene was turned over to the Middletown Police Department, according to officials.

The man’s death appears to be accidental, but it remains under investigation by the Cromwell Police Department, according to the Middletown Press.
