More Than 2,100 Still Without Power In Middletown

Due to the extensive damage caused by this storm, bulk waste collections will be suspended until further notice, officials said.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A total of 2,142 Middletown homes or 9 percent of the city is still without power on Friday, according to the latest updates from Eversource. Eversource officials said they don't expect power to be fully restored until Tuesday.

Middletown Public Works crews are working to address fallen trees, road blockages, local damage and other issues resulting from tropical storm Isaias. Below is information for residents to assist with storm clean up. If you have questions, please call 860-638-4850.

Recycling Center will be open extended hours on Saturday, August 8
Middletown residents can bring brush to the recycling center at no charge. It will be open Monday – Friday 7am – 3pm and extended hours, this Saturday, August 8, 7am – 3pm. Contractors can bring brush from residents as well, but they will be charged $25/load. Payment by check or credit card only.

Curbside Storm Brush Collection
Brush will be collected curbside from residents. It must be cut into 4 foot lengths and less than 6” in diameter. Residents should call 860-638-4850 to get on the list for collection. Please note that due to the excessive damage in the City, it could take a couple weeks for crews to start collection of residential debris.

Bulk Waste Collection
Due to the extensive damage caused by this storm, bulk waste collections will be suspended until further notice. We expect to be able to put crews back on bulk collection by the end of August.
