MIDDLETOWN, CT — A motorcycle operator was critically injured in a head-on crash with an SUV on Sunday afternoon on the Arrigoni Bridge, according to Middletown police.

The crash happened around 1:45 p.m. on Sept. 20. The operator of a 2007 Yamaha YZFR1 motorcycle was traveling east on the Arrigoni Bridge when it crossed the center line and struck a Volvo XC90 that was traveling west, according to Lt. Heather Desmond.

The motorcycle operator was taken to Hartford Hospital via Life Star. He was in critical condition as of Monday afternoon, according to Desmond.

The driver of the Volvo suffered minor injuries.

Police aren’t identifying the drivers at this time, according to Desmond.
