Middlesex County residents will be out in force on Sunday, May 9, 2021, as they show their support for epilepsy awareness and the Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut (EFCT) by participating in the National Walk to End Epilepsy, which will be held for the first time at the Wadsworth Mansion.

“We are very excited to once again hold our Walk to End Epilepsy events again in-person across the state. We are looking forward to welcoming our tremendous epilepsy community to our walks that help the Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut provide vital programs, services, and advocacy for the 36,000 individuals living with epilepsy in Connecticut. Despite the pandemic, seizures haven’t stopped…and neither has the fight to End Epilepsy”, said Linda Wallace, Executive Director.

Middletown Mayor, Ben Florsheim, will be in attendance and will be addressing the participants to kick-off the inaugural event in Middletown. “We were thrilled to host the Epilepsy Foundation’s first annual 5K in Middletown last year, on the beautiful grounds of the Wadsworth Mansion. The run was a tremendous success and an uplifting event to be a part of during a difficult year. We are very excited to welcome the Epilepsy Foundation back to Middletown for the walk on May 9, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the Mansion!”, said Mayor Florsheim.

Based on new guidelines from the National Walk to End Epilepsy, there is NO FEE to register for any of our walk locations in Connecticut. However, every person regardless of age that is planning to walk with us must register! Once participants register, we will send a link to set up a fundraising page where they will have the opportunity to raise funds and share their connection to epilepsy.

We want all members of the community to walk with us, but we cannot host these events and provide the resources for the epilepsy community without your help. We encourage every walker to make a personal donation and commit to raising funds to help us support the epilepsy community.

Registered walkers who make a $50 donation will receive an official Walk to End Epilepsy t-shirt!

All proceeds benefit The Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut’s programs and services.

We are incredibly grateful for our Local Sponsor, Sunovion, our Nationwide Sponsors, Greenwich Biosciences and SK Life Science and for our Signature Sponsors, Eisai, LivaNova and UCB.
