Obituary: Hans "Papa" Brings, 84, of Middletown
Hans, a devoted husband and father, known as Papa to family and friends, worked at Brings Machine Products in Middletown for over 45 years.
MIDDLETOWN, CT - (From Biega Funeral Home) Hans "Papa" Brings, 84, of Middletown, beloved husband of over 50 years to the late Veronica Brings, died April 26, 2021.
He was born in Düsseldorf Germany, son of the late Hans and Christina Brings. Hans worked as a machinist in New York in his earlier years, then he worked for himself at Brings Machine Products in Middletown CT for over 45 years.
Hans loved playing with his kids, socializing with his neighbors, bowling, eating Mama’s German cooking, and watching the Yankees and “Cowboy” movies by Mama’s side.
Hans was well known as "Papa" to everyone who knew him for always being the loving & fun dad, the cheerful neighbor, and the spirit that brought joy to everyone’s lives.
He will be deeply missed by all.
Hans is survived by his two sons, Hans Brings and his wife Sarah, Peter Brings and his wife Robin, both of Waltham, MA, two sisters, Doris and Christa Brings, both of Germany, a son-in-law, Daniel Knapp of Middletown, and three grandsons, Hans Brings, David Knapp, and Jesse Brings.
Hans was predeceased by his wife Veronica Brings and daughter, Heidi Knapp.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held Monday May 10th at 11a.m. at Saint Pius X Church, 310 Newfield Street, Middletown. Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown on Sunday May 9th 4 to 6 p.m.
