Obituary: Mary Jeanne Hasbrouck, 64, of Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, CT - (From Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home) Mary Jeanne Hasbrouck passed away from Metastatic Breast Cancer, peacefully surrounded by loved ones, on June 27, 2021.

She had a fantastic life. Mary always said she would not have changed her life for anything. Cancer, although a fierce disease, introduced her to many wonderful people and experiences which she would not have had otherwise.

Metastatic Breast Cancer was a wicked foe that she fought strong and hard for many years. This disease takes no prisoners. Mary did not lose her battle with Cancer, she WON her battle when she left this earthly body and reunited with her parents, who walked with her up the stairway to heaven.

Mary wanted to recognize and thank the staff at Smilow Cancer Center in Orange, who have been with her since she was originally diagnosed in 2008.

She loved them all, but Dr. Lasala will always have a special place in her heart. They were caring, loving, understanding, and always there for her.

Mary is thankful and grateful for all the wonderful people who sent support and encouragement through countless phone calls, cards, texts, and visits.

She felt blessed and honored to have been raised by two loving and caring parents and to have three fantastic, supportive, and loving sisters, along with her brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews who were always there whenever she needed anything, and her great-nieces and nephews who always made her smile and laugh.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Beverly (Searle) Hasbrouck.

She is survived by an uncle, Thaddeus Hasbrouck; sisters, Linda Ruggiero, Carol (Donald) Forand, and Vicki (Russell) Arpin; nieces and nephews, Kristine (Marc) D’Andrea, Melissa Ruggiero (MJ Ingram), Kimberly (John) DeLuca, Kenneth Ruggiero, Jr., Rebecca Forand, Nicole (Michael) Petersen, and Tyler (Stephanie) Arpin; great-nieces and nephews, Colton D’Andrea, Aubrey DeLuca, John DeLuca, Jr., Kaitlyn Forand Flyntz, and Joshua Forand Flyntz; and brother-in-law, Ken Ruggiero.

To respect Mary’s wishes, her family will not be holding any traditional services but will celebrate Mary’s life privately.
