Restaurant Closing Inside Wesleyan Bookstore In Middletown
The restaurant chain has announced that it is ending its operations inside the Wesleyan RJ Julia Bookstore in Middletown.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — Grown, an organic fast-food chain, is ending its operations inside the Wesleyan RJ Julia Bookstore at 413 Main St. in Middletown this month, according to the News@Wesleyan blog. The café at Wesleyan, which opened in May 2017, is Grown’s only location in Connecticut.
The Grown franchise is owned by Shannon Allen, a Middletown native who is married to former UConn and NBA star Ray Allen.
Wesleyan officials say the university’s on-campus dining vendor, Bon Appetit, will take over on a temporary basis through the end of the spring semester. A new vendor for the café is expected to be selected by the summer.
