Teen, 18, Killed In Crash On Route 9 In Middletown
An 18-year-old was killed, and two others were hospitalized after the crash Tuesday night in Middletown.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — An 18-year-old Middletown resident was killed in a crash on Route 9 North on Tuesday night, according to multiple reports.
NBC Connecticut reports Amil Carlton Phillip, 18, was identified by police as the driver of a Toyota Camry that went off Route 9 North near Exit 12 and struck a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fire officials said crews were responding to the scene around 7:30 p.m. and that a person needed to be extricated from the vehicle.

Two passengers, both 18 years old, were hospitalized with serious injuries that were described as non-life-threatening, according to WTNH News 8.
The crash is being investigated by Connecticut State Police.
