Victim Identified In Fatal Shooting In Middletown: Police

A man was killed and a 17-year-old boy was injured during the incident, according to police.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Police have identified the victim of Sunday’s fatal shooting as Tylon Hardy, 25, of Middletown.

Police responded to a report of a fight in the area of Highlands Crescent and Stirling Court around 11 a.m. The incident escalated to a "shots fired" call before police arrived at the scene, according to Lt. Brian Hubbs.

Arriving officers found that Hardy had been shot during the incident. Officers and EMS personnel tried to revive Hardy but he was pronounced dead at the scene, Hubbs said.

A 17-year-old boy was also injured and taken to the hospital where he remains in stable condition, Hubbs said in an update Monday morning. The teenager’s name is not being released at this time.

Hubbs said Hardy and the teen appeared to know each other and this “appears to be an isolated incident with no known threats to the public or residents in the area.”

Detectives are no longer looking to speak with the driver of a white Acura, which Hubbs said is no longer a vehicle of interest.

Police are continuing to investigate the shooting and anyone with information is asked to contact the Middletown Police Department Detective Bureau-- Det. Stroud at 860-638-4147.
