Woman Charged With Murder In Fatal Shooting: Middletown Police
A man was killed in a double-shooting, according to police.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — An Alabama woman has been charged with murder in connection with a fatal shooting Monday night in Middletown, according to police.
Melody Jean Christensen, 44, of Centre, Alabama, was arrested Thursday on a warrant after being found at a hotel in East Hartford. She was charged with murder and illegal discharge of a firearm.
Christensen was held in lieu of a $1.5 million bond and was expected to be arraigned in Middlesex Superior Court on Friday.

The arrest stems from a domestic violence incident that happened around 11 p.m. in Middletown when police responded to a call for shots fired at an undisclosed address, according to officials. Police found that two people had been shot, including Christensen.
The other person involved in the incident was found with gunshot wounds and was taken to Middlesex Hospital where he died from his injuries, according to police.

Police are not releasing the victim’s identity or the location where the incident took place at this time, police said.
“This is an isolated incident and there is no risk to the public,” police wrote in a news release. “The Middletown Police Department’s Major Investigations Division and the Middlesex State’s Attorney Office continue to investigate this incident.”
