Xavier In Top 10 of Latest High School Ice Hockey Poll

A complete revamping of the top eight teams, plus two new additions, comprise this week's poll of coaches and media members.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Not a single high school ice hockey team ranked in the latest Connecticut poll of coaches and media members maintained its position this week, with a complete reshuffling of the top 10 including two new additions.

Ridgefield captured all 14 first-place votes to move into the top spot, followed by Greenwich and Northwest Catholic.

Xavier High School tied for 10th in the most recent balloting.

Here are the top 10, with previous ranking in parentheses, as well as all other programs garnering votes.

  3. Northwest Catholic (lw: 8)
  4. Darien (lw: T-5)
  5. Notre Dame-West Haven (lw: 7)
  6. Hameen (lw: 4)
  7. Fairfield Prep (lw: 1)
  8. New Canaan (lw: 9)
  9. Simsbury (lw: NR)
  10. (tie) New Fairfield/Immaculate (lw: NR)
    10. (tie) Xavier (lw: T-5)

Also receiving votes: Watertown/Pomperaug, West Haven, Amity, Cheshire, Notre Dame-Fairfield, South Windsor.
