Accumulating Snow in Monroe’s Forecast
The National Weather Service has issued a "Hazardous Weather Outlook" for the area which will produce sub zero wind chills.

MONROE, CT — Several areas of Connecticut have received some snow accumulation this season but many others, especially those along the coast haven’t yet, but that is likely to change this weekend. Accumulating snow is in the forecast for Connecticut Saturday morning, according to NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan.
A “Hazardous Weather Outlook” has already been issued for the entire state but it’s not just for this weekends snow, it’s also for severe cold that is forecast to arrive late tonight and Thursday. For southern Connecticut, the National Weather Service says that a “very cold air mass” arrives late tonight and continues through Saturday morning. Sub zero wind chills are likely and temps will only be in the 20s. Temps could fall to the low teens and single digits Thursday night.
For Hartford and Tolland counties, the National Weather Service says, “dangerously cold wind chills of 10 to 25 below zero are forecast as lows drop into the single digits to several degrees below-zero.” Winds may gust here up to 45 mph. Snow could reach at least three inches in northern Connecticut on Saturday.
