Arrest Made In Connection With Masuk High Lockdown

An officer was injured during the incident, police said.

MONROE, CT — Police arrested a Bridgeport man in connection with the incident that prompted the lockdown of Masuk High School in November.

The school resource officer saw a suspicious vehicle and found Edwin Galvez-Lemus, 32, inside. He was speaking to female students, according to the Connecticut Post. He fled while being questioned and his side mirror struck the officer, police said.

He fled on foot after a short car pursuit. Police didn't catch him that day, but learned his identity shortly after, police said. He was charged with assault on a police officer, reckless driving and other charges.
