Cop, Restaurant Settle Suit With Monroe Woman Injured In Crash
The victim sued on the grounds that the officer was over served.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A former Bridgeport cop and a restaurant in the city will settle a lawsuit brought by the victim in a Stratford crash that happened after the officer had been drinking at the business, the Connecticut Post reported. John Carrano was accused of hitting a vehicle driven by Elizabeth Bucci, 19, on Dec. 22, 2017, on Broadbridge Avenue after he spent the evening at Vazzy's Pasta & Pizza, according to the Post.
Bucci, who lives in Monroe and is former Bridgeport Mayor Thomas Bucci's granddaughter, required surgery for her injuries and sued Carrano and Vazzy's on the grounds that Carrano was over served, the Post reported. Carrano pleaded nolo contendere last week to an assault charge in the incident and will be sentenced Feb. 11, according to the Post.
