'Escape from Planet Earth' this Thursday

Here are a few things to do in Monroe today, Thursday Aug. 8.

Monroe AccuWeather: Some rain and a thunderstorm with a high of 82-degrees, though it will feel more like 89.

Dig into Reading Storytime, full of music, fingerplays, and great stories, will be held at Edith Wheeler Memorial Library today ay 10:30 a.m. All are welcome and no registration is required.

Teen Crafty Afternoons: Incoming 7th-12th graders are welcome to stop by the Teen Space at Edith Wheeler Memorial Library this afternoon from noon to 4 during Summer Reading. Some supplies for a drop-in craft may be at the Reference Desk.

Family Movie Matinee: "Escape from Planet Earth" a funny animated adventure that crosses all galaxies will be shown in the Ehlers Meeting Room of the library today at 2 p.m. The movie is rated PG and has a running time of 89 minutes. Feel free to bring your own snacks.

A Look Ahead: The Monroe Farmers' Market is this Friday from 3 to 6 p.m.
