Expect Delays: CT United Ride Rolls Through Monroe Sunday

Police are warning motorists to expect delays in the areas around the 60-mile route.

MONROE, CT — The CT United Ride will be rolling through Monroe on Sunday, Sept. 9.

Police are warning motorists to expect delays in the areas around the 60-mile route, which will be closed to traffic during the event. The event kicks off around at about 11:30 a.m.

The motorcade of motorcycles is the 18th running of the annual event, and is billed as a tribute for the victims and heroes of 9/11. Organizers expect riders and spectators over the course of the parade from Norwalk to Bridgeport to total over 20,000 people and 1,000 motorcycles.

The route will be as follows:

  • Norden Park in Norwalk to Route 136.
  • Route 33 through Westport
  • Route 7 through Wilton
  • Route 107 to the Georgetown section of Wilton and Redding
  • Route 58 north to Bethel
  • Route 302 east through Newtown
  • Route 25 south through Newtown and Monroe
  • South on Main Street, Rt. 111, Trumbull
  • West on Old Town Road, Bridgeport
  • Park Avenue south to Seaside Park in Bridgeport.

This year's 2018 CT United Ride is dedicated to CT State Trooper First Class Walter Greene #1297 who volunteered at Ground Zero, lead the event for years, and who recently passed away from 9/11 illness complications.
