Housatonic Community College Student Entrepreneur Showcase
Giving entrepreneurs something to work towards, and exposure.
Earlier this month sixteen Housatonic Community College (HCC) students presented their products and services at the 2nd Housatonic Student Entrepreneur Showcase. Homemade soaps, baked goods, landscaping and event planning were just a few of the many offerings.
Visitors to the showcase voted on their favorite firm by ‘investing’ their participant dollars and the entrepreneurs competed for awards.
The Best Business Concept Award winners were tied: Jill Fattibene of Southport for her company, Glitter is Gold, offering Glitter sugar cubes and Afua Boadu-Kure of Waterbury for Yours Truly LLC, offering all-natural hair care products.

Mike Roer, Entrepreneur-In-Residence, shared that in this second student entrepreneur showcase, the number of participants doubled, and a wide variety of businesses were presented.
“This showcase gives them something to work towards, and that takes planning. There is a lot of learning going on here for the students,” said Roer. "Our future is in good hands."
