House Fire Extinguished In Monroe

Firefighters worked at the scene for about two hours, according to officials.

MONROE, CT — Firefighters from several companies extinguished a house fire on Pastors Walk in Monroe on Friday afternoon. Crews from the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department, Stepney Fire Department and Stevenson Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene, according to officials.

“Heavy smoke and fire were encountered in the attached garage and storage area but crews made an excellent stop using three attack lines to stop the spread into the main living area,” officials wrote in a post on Facebook. “Five engines and a ladder truck responded and operated for about two hours. No injuries were sustained and the Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.”

Officials said Trumbull and Shelton provided station coverage and Monroe Volunteer Emergency Medical Service and the police department assisted at the scene.
