Masuk Advances to State Football Championship Game

The opponents for next Saturday's four state championship games were determined in semifinal matchups Sunday.

MONROE, CT — Masuk High School earned an opportunity to go for its fourth state football championship by defeating defending champion New Canaan 28-14 in a Class L semifinal matchup Sunday afternoon.

Head coach Joe Lato's troops will play second-seeded Daniel Hand for the title on Saturday, Dec. 9, at a location and time to be determined. The Tigers walloped No. 3 Windsor, 31-6.

Masuk is 3-6 overall in state title games, with its last victory coming in 2010, while Daniel Hand is 11-6, last winning in 2012.
