MONROE, CT --- The Monroe Police Department is once again inviting area residents for a "Plunge in the Park" at Great Hollow Lake this Saturday, April 7. It will be the 8th year the police have hosted the frosty festivities, which benefit the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Connecticut.

Each plunger needs to raise a minimum of $50, and costumes are encouraged. The charity provides funding to support over 13,000 athletes and unified partners who participate in Special Olympics Connecticut's year-round training and competition in 27 sports.

Register online here. Check-in is Saturday at 11:00 a.m., and the big plunge is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
