In crowning Monroe as the safest town in the state, Safe Choice noted that “Deemed a bedroom community of Stamford and New York City, it boasts a rich history and appeals greatly to those looking for a home town where crime is low and the community feel is high. Another upscale community catering mostly to the wealthy, it has been protected by the Monroe Police Department since the early 1950s.”
