Monroe Town Council Sets Public Hearing for NAA Applicants
The food pantry, the performance pavilion, and Project Warmth are among those vying for placement in the tax credit program.

MONROE, CT -- The Town Council has announced it will conduct a public hearing on applications being submitted for the 2018 Neighborhood Assistance Act Program (NAA).
The following groups and/or services have submitted applications:
- Edith Wheeler Memorial Library Sensory Storytime
- Monroe Food Pantry
- Monroe Playground Foundation
- Project Warmth
- Emergency Medical Services Stop the Bleed Program
- Conservation Commission Pollinator Garden: Educational and Environmental Benefits
- Monroe Performance Pavilion
If approved by Town Council, the applications will then be submitted to the state for final approval

The NAA Tax Credit Program is designed to provide funding for municipal and tax exempt organizations by providing a corporation business tax credit for businesses who make cash contributions to these entities.
Businesses can receive a credit of 60 percent of their approved contribution to certain programs (or 100 percent in the case of certain energy conservation programs) approved by the state Department of Revenue Services.

The hearing will be at 7:30 p.m. prior to their regular meeting on Monday, June 11, at the Town Hall (Council Chambers) located on 7 Fan Hill Road.
