On July 18, a Ripton Ridge Road woman told police she received a call from a man claiming she hit his car in a parking lot earlier in the day and had left a note with her phone number. But she told him that did not happen and hung up, according to the report.
Her phone rang again and the same number was on the caller I.D., so she did not answer it, police said.
No message was left, but when an officer called back, police said he heard a recording informing him he was just pranked by an online prank calling service.
