Monroe's Elegant Banquets Purchases Le Chauteau

MONROE, CT — Brides, grooms and locals looking for a beautiful place to host a party or event won't have to travel far as Le Chateau has been purchased by a new owner, according to The Ridgefield Press. Le Chateau is located on Route 35 in South Salem, just past the Ridgefield town line. The restaurant closed in February 2015 after four decades in business and is slated to reopen exclusively for private events in October of 2017, according to the report.

Le Chateau was originally Reverend Rainsford's Country Estate built by JP Morgan in 1907. Elegant Banquets, LLC of Brookfield, purchased the business and also owns The Riverview in Simsbury, The Waterview in Monroe and The Candlewood Inn and The Fox Hill Inn, both located in Brookfield.
