Monroe's Restaurant Week Receives Rave Reviews: Report
Business owners seemed very pleased with the results of October's Restaurant Week event.

MONROE, CT — While the jury is still out, it seems Monroe's first restaurant week was a whopping success for business owners, reports the Monroe Courier. Economic Development Commission Chairwoman Donna Verdisco said that not all restaurant reports are in, but those that have been submitted were impressive.
Roberto's Restaurant reported a 100 percent increase in sales, according to Verdisco's comments cited by the publication. Osteria Roman had an increase of 55 percent more people visiting the restaurant, and 40 of those were first time customers.
The celebration of restaurant week was a seven-day promotion highlighting the town's eateries. First Selectman Steve Vavrek said the event would "definitely" be an annual event.
