Power Company to Award Grants for Housatonic Projects
The fund has awarded more than $700,000 in grants to nearly two dozen organizations since its founding in 2015

MONROE, CT — FirstLight Power Resources has announced it is accepting grant applications for initiatives, programs and projects that promote environmental protection, energy efficiency and public safety in the Housatonic region.
The projects and activities must fall in one of the 23 towns that are in the Housatonic region, which includes Candlewood Lake, Lake Zoar and Lake Lillinonah. FirstLight owns and operates the Housatonic River hydroelectric system there.
The fund has awarded more than $700,000 in grants to nearly two dozen organizations since its founding in 2015, including the Candlewood Lake Authority, the Housatonic Valley Association, the Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition, the Lake Lillanonah Authority, the Lake Zoar Authority, and the Connecticut State Environmental Conservation Police.

Applications will be accepted until April 1. Grant applications will be available online or by contacting Len Greene at len.greene@firstlightpower.com. Awards will be announced on or before June 1.
