Road Work On Track for Route 25 in Monroe This Weekend
After three weekends of weather delays, the work is back on the schedule.

MONROE, CT — The police say it is game on this weekend for the long-anticipated road work along Route 25.
Rain and the threat of rain have caused the Department of Transportation to cancel the work for the past three weekends, but Monroe police took to Facebook to confirm everything is on track for this weekend, from 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24 through 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27.
The closure, from Brook to Knollwood streets, will allow workers to install a new culvert at the Aquarion reservoir, and will extend through the shopping plaza, south of Knollwood Street. Commercial vehicles will be banned from local roads during the work, and other traffic will be detoured onto Old Newtown Road and Pepper Street.
