Smithy Restaurant For Sale In Monroe

Owners said don't believe the closure rumors, they are looking to sell it to someone who wants to keep it the same.

MONROE, CT — The Smithy restaurant and building on Main Street are up for sale. Owners Steve Scinto and Frank Pelligra said the business is successful, but it's time to retire.

The two are looking to sell the business to buyers who would keep it largely the same. They also want the prospective new owner to retain most of the staff, according to the Monroe Sun.

Scinto and Pelligra took over the business in 1991 from Pelligra's parents Frank and Joyce. The restaurant has been open since 1973 and is a landmark business in town.
