The End of Summer Reading Bash is Here!

End of Summer Reading Bash: Bring your own picnic dinner this Wednesday and camp out on Edith Wheeler Memorial Library's back lawn to celebrate the end to summer with a performance by the Airborne Jugglers. The event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. and the show begins at 6:30.

Frosty Treats for a Cause: Deals will be offered at participating Monroe and Shelton ice cream and frozen yogurt shops in exchange for donations this Friday and Saturday in a benefit for "The Sandy Ground Project: Where Angels Play", an effort to build 26 playgrounds along the East Coast in honor of each of the victims of the tragic Sandy Hook shooting.

The Monroe Farmers' Market is Friday from 3 to 6 p.m.

The Monroe Summer Show: United Methodist Church of Monroe will host a night of music this Sunday with local bands Take It Off, Cables and Confessions, and more. Doors open at 5 p.m., the show starts at 5:30. Admission is $5. Snacks and beverages will be sold with all proceeds benefiting the church.
