A group of Monroe town residents are organizing a campaign called "Think Pink Monroe" in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October to raise awareness about breast cancer prevention. Funds raised through the program will benefit cancer patients and their families through St. Vincent’s Medical Center Foundation/SWIM Across the Sound.

Think Pink Monroe (TPM) is led by breast cancer survivor Bonnie Maur with the support of First Selectman Kenneth M. Kellogg. Maur is joined by other volunteers including Patti Kallas, Tax Collector Deborah Heim, Matthew Hirsch, Town Councilman Jason Maur, Vicky Kazlauskas and Chris Howard.

Think Pink Monroe will kick off at the Farmer’s Market on Friday, September 27 from 3 to 6 PM. The SWIM’s Mobile Mammography Coach will be there to test women. A Vigil will be held in October 2019 to raise awareness, honor survivors and remember those lost.
