Fatal Crash Closes Part of Route 82 In Montville

The state route was closed as investigators worked at the scene of a deadly crash Saturday morning.

MONTVILLE, CT — A head-on crash on Route 82 Saturday morning claimed the life of one person and resulted in the closure of the roadway, according to state police.

State police dispatch records indicate the crash occurred around 8:20 p.m., with firefighters reporting entrapment and injuries in both vehicles. Moments later, serious injuries were reported and extrication began.

One person was pronounced dead due to their injuries. The roadway was closed during an investigation, WTNH-TV reported.
