Junior Lifeguard Course at Ocean Beach Park
The New England Science & Sailing (NESS) Foundation is now offering a course for Junior Guards at Ocean Beach Park for kids ages 9-14.
The course is taught by an American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor and will run Monday, July 27 through Friday, July 31 from 1:00-4:00pm at Ocean Beach Park (New London) .
Get ready to have fun while learning how to become a future leader of the ocean! This is a great opportunity to get a basic overview in First Aid, CPR, AED, and waterfront rescue skills. There will be an emphasis towards physical fitness, oceanfront hazards, and marine ecology. This program also incorporates activities such as snorkeling, boogie boarding, beach flags and rescue tube relays. Students must be able to swim two laps continuously and tread water for one minute. This is not a certifying course.
