Learn About Montville's Pay-Per-Bag Garbage Proposal

The Town Council is holding an informational session on Wednesday.

MONTVILLE, CT — The Montville Town Council is considering a move to pay-as-you-throw garbage disposal at the town's transfer station, and the group is holding an informational meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday night in Town Hall to discuss it, writes The Day.

Officials say the plan could save the town money, and Wednesday's session will include a presentation by the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection about its benefits.

While support for the plan, which includes the town giving bags to residents when they pay for a permit, has slowly grown, some residents have complained that the Town Council had not given enough notice for past informational meetings.
