Mohegan Sun Makes Large Food Donations

UNCASVILLE, CT — Mohegan Sun has made a number of large donations to provide support during the coronavirus pandemic. This includes food donations to the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut and the Salvation Army serving Connecticut and Rhode Island.

One hundred cases of nitrile gloves are also being donated to the State of Connecticut today, to be made available to medical professionals in the state. This donation to the state also included two cases of N95 masks, according to a statement from Mohegan Sun.

A large amount of dairy products that included milk, yogurt, juice, cheese, eggs, hummus and more, have also been delivered today to the Montville Senior Center and UWSECT. This follows two truck-loads of perishable food items delivered last week to the Gemma E. Moran United Way/ Labor Food Bank in New London.

In the past week on efforts partnered on with the UWSECT, The Salvation Army Southern New England Division and The Montville Senior Center, Mohegan Sun has donated more than $50,000 worth of surplus food.

In recent days, The Mohegan Tribe also provided 10,000 grocery bags to Foodshare, the regional foodbank that serves Connecticut’s Hartford and Tolland Counties.

Mohegan Sun and the Mohegan Tribe will continue to communicate and work with the State of Connecticut as well as the United Way, The Salvation Army, Foodshare and other organizations that provide vital support to our communities in this increased time of need due to the COVID-19 public health concerns.
