“This year, Connecticut is poised to modernize its gaming laws, realize significant new state revenue, and grow our local economy, just as neighboring states are already doing,” said Mohegan Tribe Chairman James Gessner Jr. "We agree with the Governor's sentiment in today's speech that Connecticut should not let 'other states benefit from our inaction.' The time to act is now.”
"And here's some good news. While we are still negotiating with the Governor, the $47.3 million he has allocated in the second year of his budget is very much achievable through an agreement with the tribal nations. If Connecticut wants to move forward on these areas, there's nothing stopping us.”
