Montville Memorial Day Parade Taking Place on May 22

The town of Montville shared info on the Memorial Day Parade 2016.

The Montville Memorial Day parade will take place on Sunday, May 22. The Montville American Legion Post 112 is sponsoring the annual Memorial Day Services and Parade.

Montville's Memorial Day activities are dedicated to Armed Forces personnel who have served the country in war, conflict and peace and particularly to those who have given the last full measure of devotion through the sacrifice of their lives in defense of these United States, the town of Montville officials said on the town website.

"This year's parade will honor the United States Naval Submarine Base at Groton as we celebrate its 100th Anniversary. The Parade Marshal will be Commander Kurt Stronich of Montville, who is the Executive Officer of the Submarine Base."

Memorial Service, Wreath-Laying Ceremony

A Memorial Service and wreath-laying ceremony will be held at the Town Hall Monuments on Route 32 at noon with the two-mile parade to proceed directly afterward.

The parade will get underway at 1 p.m., at the intersection of State Highway Route 32 and Raymond Hill Road and proceed to St. Patrick's Cemetery.
