Numerous Fire Companies Fought Montville Blaze

First reported shortly before 10 p.m., a two-story wood-frame building on Route 32 with no one inside was on fire and the road was closed.

MONTVILLE, CT — After 90 minutes, firefighters successfully knocked down a "fully-involved" fire in a two and a half story wood frame structure at 888 Route 32. The location of the fire is in an uninhabited building next door to the Uncasville Diner where a Psychic Reader had previously advertised.

Traffic was being diverted from the area and that section of Route 32 was closed.

Numerous departments responded including Montville, Mohegan, Oakdake Quaker Hill, Salem, Yantic, Gardener Lake, and Norwich.

According to emergency services communication, firefighter assist and search team, known as FAST, a rapid intervention team of firefighters whose job is to search and rescue of other firefighters in distress, were dispatched.

It's reported and was heard on emergency radio that anyone that was inside the building was out and firefighters were attacking the fire from the exterior of the building. Eversource cut power to the location.
