Report: Montville Police Sergeant Charged With DUI
The Day reported that Sgt. Michael Pelletier was arrested by state cops on Oct. 23 and charged with driving under the influence.

MONTVILLE, CT — The Day reported and court records show that state police arrested and charged Michael Pelletier with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Pelletier is a Montville Police sergeant.
The 33-year-old was arrested by Troop E officers on Oct. 23 in connection with a mid-September crash in Griswold where Pelletier is alleged to have hit the back of a pickup; he was also charged with following too closely.
The Day report cites charging documents but noted that the arrest did not appear in the state police logs that are made available to the press at the Troop E headquarters in Montville.

The affidavit the paper cites reads that on the late afternoon of Sept. 15, "Pelletier was driving a tan Dodge Avenger sedan when he collided with a red Chevy Silverado pickup." The woman driving the truck wasn't hurt and the pickup did not suffer much damage but she told police that the sedan was driving erratically, "swerving and she saw it strike a mailbox." Police could hear "the tan sedan collide with the operator's truck" on a dispatch recording. State cops applied for a warrant, The Day reported, to get medical records from Pelletier's visit to the hospitalfollowing the accident, where it's reported he was unharmed but apparently had a medical condition.
Court records show Pelletier was released on a promise to appear and that he is due in court on Oct. 29 to be arraigned. The Day however reported that the date was moved to Nov. 13.
