Uncasville Veteran Dies of Heroin Overdose in VA Hospital: Report
A 28-year-old man reportedly died of an accidental overdose in a Veterans Affairs Medical Center bathroom.
In December 2015, a 28-year-old U.S. Army veteran from Uncasville died in a West Haven hospital bathroom.
According to the New Haven Register, Zachary Paul-Allen Greenough died of heroin intoxication. His death was accident, the state’s medical examiner told the Register.
The West Haven VA Hospital spokesperson, Pamela Redmond, said Greenough was part of a program where he resided at the hospital but was able to leave during the day.

According to Greenough’s obituary, he was born in New London and lived in Uncasville. Greenough enjoyed fishing and has a warm sense of humor.
